“JiaJi甲级” means “1st Grade” which series has a very long history both in XiaGuan and whole puerh tea world. “JiaJi” was named because of the mainly selected tea materials used in this series. At that time, puerh tea material was not separated so detailed to totally 11 grades or 12 grades. Simply there were JiaJi represents 1st grade, YiJi represents 2nd grade and BingJi of 3rd grade.
There are many varieties on individual weight and package. Like 250g, 100g (There had ever 125g and 200g but almost disappeared in nowadays) . Paper boxed or simple wrapper packaged.
In the past, JiaJi tuo always had some characters like heavily smoky and strong bitterness and astringency.
But in recent years till 2018, it has becomes relatively light in smoke and bitterness and astringency are turning to not so strong.
Though it is still obvious compared to other daily drinking tea ever in XiaGuan or from other tea factories.
There are still many characters left from old blend recipe and selected tea materials. It won’t change in a sudden.
HuiGan, the sweetness from aftertaste and saliva producing are still on satisfying level.
Sheng cha which will continuously ferment by complicate chemical reaction of Oxygen, Microbes, Enzyme and other substances contained in tea leaf. And this process is called natural fermentation or evolution which will get better effect under ideal storage condition of humidity around 75% and temperature near 20-25 Celsius with airflow and should be hidden from sun light.
